This website is a great resource.

In this new economy, businesses will be smaller and less formal. Smaller businesses need less overhead. With so much telecommuting and remote technology, there is no need for these small businesses to be collocated in the same physical space.

Is this a temporary trend, or a permanent thing? I think it’s permanent.

    Dave –

I am honored to be a partner in what I consider a new and fresh concept in office offerings. Congratulations on your decision to form your own company for this business. That takes guts, and is indicative of your personal determination to help the small business entrepreneur succeed in a very professional setting. I will gladly recommend you to the businesses I network with, and wish you the best of success.

    Kind Regards,

    Tom Lunney

“Downsizing” is the term we commonly use during the initial impact of a softening economy. I prefer “right sizing” which describes how the resources must be reorganized for the present economy and into the future. This website’s concept should be a very useful tool for those that are looking to control their expenses so they are postioned for profitability in this economy. We’re happy to partner with these firms.

I’m happy to be a partner!

I am a Professional Organizer who has helped dozens of companies and non-profits gain control over their files and photos by streamlining, weeding, and developing an index to the collection. I can help save valuable time and space by setting up a system for easy access to and retrieval of your materials.

    Dave and all:

Truly honored to be a part of the group!

Dave is absolutely correct on the office space costs dilemma. Too many people are paying WAY too much for their real estate occupancy costs. If there is any opportunity to help you explore the “pools of money” for potential savings in your real estate occupancy, I hope you might reach out. We certainly can help and consider it a privilege to do so.

Our clients often find that outsourcing their data center needs keeps the costs of running their business low in comparison to building the same highly redundant and available network at their own location. DownsizeOffice.com is thinking along the same lines as to keep your operating costs low, and profits high! In times like these you can still operate at a enterprise level without the upfront costs!

OfficeCare is a locally owned Information Technology Services and Consulting firm. Being in the services business, our people are our primary business differentiator. As an organization, we certainly see the value in taking alternate cost-reduction measures in order to retain good people. When in cost-reduction mode, reducing office space certainly makes sense.

I am an interior designer. One of my strengths is space planning. I can help the client re-work how they use their space to cut down on costs of workstation panels. Or if they can re-negotiate a lease to lease less space, I can help them re-configure to fit all their staff into the smaller space.

Many companies I visit, have no one at the reception desk and have conference rooms that are dusty from lack of use. I expect these companies have let people go or at least considered it. It is unfornate they are locked into office costs. I look forward to ideas on ways to trim excess office overhead.
